Habitat for Humanity...

is a  partnership, not a giveaway program—Habitat’s homeowner families buy  the houses that Habitat builds and renovates. Habitat homeowners also  invest hundreds of hours of their own labor working alongside  volunteers. As a result, Habitat for Humanity houses are affordable to  low-income families around the world.

Here  at Decatur Area Habitat for Humanity, we are dedicated to building  homes and helping families in our city. We give families an opportunity  to pay an affordable mortgage and better their lives through our  organization, and we appreciate the continuous support the community has  given us. All the support we receive from donations and profit from our  ReStore shop helps our organization further support families just like  Maria.

The  Waterman family, AL, a U.S Air Force Veteran, his wife Xin, and son  Zhao have been volunteering and partnering with Decatur Area Habitat for  Humanity since 2008. They have put in twice the amount of sweat equity  to build a place they can call home and have been selected to be Habitat  homeowners in 2016. We want to help the Watermans have a place they can  call home and our organization will greatly appreciate any donations to  help fund this project.
